Chief Executive Officer
Mr John Firth is the Chief Executive Officer of the VCAA.
General Manager, Curriculum
David Howes is responsible for the operations of the Curriculum Branch. This includes leadership of project teams and co-ordination of the Post-compulsory and P-10 Curriculum and Assessment committees, VCE and VCAL review and reaccreditation committees. These committees provide advice and recommendations to the Board on the development and implementation of the VCE , VCAL and development and monitoring of the VELS. David Howes also manages the development and implementation of policies and procedures for VCE VET.
General Manager, Corporate Services
Ms Lea Saddington is responsible for managing the operational units that support the conduct of the Authority's business. Specific areas that she oversees include Corporate Governance, Executive Services, Finance and Administration, Human Resources, Project Coordination, Information Technology, Information Services, Authority Promotions, Production and Publication, Online Communications, the Season of Excellence, Overseas Programs, and Authority Accommodation.
General Manager, Assessment and Reporting
Dr David Philips is responsible for the operations of the Assessment and Reporting Branch of the VCAA and the development, implementation and monitoring of the VCAA’s assessment policies and procedures. Dr Philips oversees the Assessment and Reporting Branch in the development, production, conduct and marking of all VCE examinations and the Years 3, 5 and 7 AIM tests.
The Branch manages the quality assurance and moderation programs for school-based assessments in the VCE. Dr Philips manages the collection and processing of students’ enrolment and assessment data for the VCE, VCAL and AIM, the maintenance of student records and, under delegation from the Victorian Qualifications Authority, the issuing of students’ VCE and VCAL certificates.
