What do I need to be a VCE assessor?

  • Appropriate qualifications in the study
  • Teaching experience at VCE Units 3 and 4 in the study

What information do I need to include in my expression of interest?

  • How long you have been teaching the study or similar studies
  • Previous experience in assessing VCE external examinations in other jurisdictions, State Reviewer for a VCE study, review panel member for a VCE study
  • Which studies and units you have taught and for how long
  • Where you have taught previously and where you are teaching now
  • Relevant professional development in Units 3 and 4

What will I be asked to do?

  • Attend a compulsory full day training meeting. This may be held on a weekend
  • Be available for the Marking 1 and Marking 2 scheduled period
  • Mark an allocated number of student scripts. The number will vary for each study
  • Adhere to marking procedures and policies as determined by the VCAA
  • Maintain confidentiality and security requirements
