VCE VET Small Business

The VCE VET Small Business program provides students with exposure to key skills and knowledge required in small business workplaces. The program enables students to meet the current and future industry requirements to work effectively within small business contexts across a range of industry sectors.


Qualifications

The VCE VET Small Business program was redeveloped in 2018.

From 2019, new students undertaking Units 1 and 2 of VCE VET Small Business will enrol in:

  • 22480VIC Certificate II in Small Business (Operations/Innovation) (Version 1): a state accredited curriculum that provides students with the knowledge and skills to enhance their employment prospects in a small business or related industries. The program offers full completion of the certificate II and includes units such as small business policies and procedures, professional skills for small business environments, small business operations and innovation, small business planning, quality and change processes and routine financial activities of a small business.

In 2019, students continuing into Units 3 and 4 will enrol in:

  • 22247VIC Certificate II in Small Business (Operations/Innovation): a state accredited curriculum that provides students with the knowledge and skills to enhance their employment prospects in a small business or related industries. The program offers full completion of the certificate II and includes units such as small business policies and procedures, professional skills for small business environments, small business operations and innovation, small business planning, quality and change processes and routine financial activities of a small business.

Credit in the VCE or VCAL

Students commencing in 2019 and beyond:

  • 22480VIC Certificate II in Small Business (Operations/Innovation) (Version 1): recognition of up to three units of credit at Units 1 and 2 level and a Units 3 and 4 sequence.

Students continuing into Units 3 and 4 in 2019:

  • 22247VIC Certificate II in Small Business (Operations/Innovation): recognition of up to three units of credit at Units 1 and 2 level and a Units 3 and 4 sequence.

ATAR Contribution

Students who receive a Units 3 and 4 sequence for the VCE VET Small Business program will be eligible for an increment towards their ATAR (10% of the fourth study score of the primary four scaled studies).

The increment is awarded by the Victorian Tertiary Admission Centre (VTAC). Further information can be found on www.vtac.edu.au.

The VCE VET Small Business program does not offer scored assessment.
