All newly appointed chief supervisors and newly appointed school personnel must attend training before starting their role.
In 2021, training sessions will be held online during May using Webex Events. Please read the
collection notice before registering.
Registrations for the following sessions close on Thursday 29 April:
About the training
The VCAA strongly encourages schools to invite their new chief supervisors and any assistant supervisors to attend the school to complete the training. Attendance at the school will reduce technical issues as well as enable further discussions at the school level.
Morning sessions will commence at 9.30am and finish prior to 1.00pm and afternoon sessions will commence at 1.30pm and finish prior to 5.00pm. New chief supervisors and assistant supervisors will be paid to attend training.
The 2021 Examination Manual will not be available to participants for the training sessions. However, to assist new chief supervisors, examination centre coordinators should make the 2020 Examination Manual available to any confirmed new chief supervisor prior to their attendance at the training.
If there is more than one supervisor at the one location, an email confirmation of attendance must be sent to
Susan Meadows to ensure that each supervisor is paid for their attendance.
The payment for attendance at the training will be included in the amount sent to schools for supervision of the GAT.
School personnel experienced in the conduct and administration of VCE external assessment are encouraged to also attend a training session to support their new chief supervisor and any assistant supervisors attending the training session.
