VCE and Senior VCAL student personal details processes in preparation for results release
Principals/directors, VASS administrators and VCE, VCAL and VET coordinators
Students who are expected to sit the General Achievement Test (GAT) in 2022 are eligible to receive their results via email and mailed to their home address.
In 2022, the following students are required to sit the GAT:
- students enrolled in one or more VCE or scored VCE VET Unit 3–4 sequence (expected to complete Sections A and B)
- students enrolled in Senior VCAL (expected to complete Section A only)
- students enrolled in International Baccalaureate, in their final year of studies, who want a notional Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) calculated (expected to complete Section A and B of the GAT)
Schools should be aware of upcoming communications in September requesting administrative steps that will validate student email and postal addresses to ensure students receive their results correctly.
These administrative steps may be new to schools with students undertaking the GAT for the first time. These processes are important as they are carefully scheduled before end-of-year results release to ensure students receive their results and avoid unnecessary delay.
Actions required
Principals/directors, please be aware that specific communications and information will follow.
Critical dates
- September – student email validation process commences with email to schools
- September – student postal address validation process commences with a notice to schools
