NAPLAN 2022 test information

Principals/directors, NAPLAN schools and NAPLAN coordinators

The NAPLAN Test Administration website is available for all schools to access as part of a test phase until Friday 20 May. Please refer to the email sent to all schools for login details.

All exemptions, withdrawals and any disability adjustments that require pre-approval should be generated via the Test Administration website.

Instructions for using the website during the test phase are available from the ‘Help’ section.

Year 3 writing test package

All schools undertaking 2022 NAPLAN Online that have Year 3 enrolments are required to administer the Year 3 writing test using the paper tests.

Year 3 test packages will be sent to schools starting on Thursday 28 April. Schools that have not received test packages by 4pm on Tuesday 3 May should contact the NAPLAN helpdesk.

All other tests will be administered via the Online National Assessment Platform.

Contingency test package

Schools will not receive a test book contingency package in 2022. Schools should contact the NAPLAN helpdesk if they encounter technical issues accessing the platform during the NAPLAN test window.

Test period

The test period for administering the online tests is from Tuesday 10 to Friday 20 May. Schools must schedule tests to be undertaken during this period.

Schools must follow the test sequence outlined in the Handbook for principals – NAPLAN Online (section 8.5).
Tests must be scheduled as soon as possible within the test period, prioritising week 1 over week 2 and the morning over the afternoon.

Critical dates

• Thursday 28 April – delivery of NAPLAN Year 3 writing test materials commences
• Tuesday 10 May to Friday 20 May – NAPLAN Online test period
• Friday 20 May – last day of NAPLAN Test Administration website test phase
