VCE written examinations: student examination/assessment timetables and Special Examination Arrangements advice slips
Principals/Directors, VCE coordinators and VASS administrators
Student assessment timetables, examination centre summary reports, Special Examination Arrangements (SEA) advice slips and summary reports for 2024 VCE written examinations will be available on VASS from Monday 2 September.
VASS administrators must refer to the
VASS guide before producing and distributing student assessment timetables and SEA advice slips.
Please discard student assessment timetables or SEA advice slips printed before Monday 2 September 2024.
Action
Principals/Directors, VCE coordinators and VASS administrators, please ensure:
- student assessment timetables are produced and distributed to all students
- SEA advice slips are:
- discussed and clearly understood by students, chief supervisors, school personnel, and any approved supervisors, clarifiers, readers, scribes and interpreters
- produced and distributed to students, chief supervisors and school personnel responsible for the conduct and administration of VCE examinations.
- school personnel are made aware of the closing dates for Derived Examination Score (DES) applications.
Critical dates
- Monday 2 September – student assessment timetables and SEA advice slips available.
- Wednesday 18 September – application for Emergency Special Examination Arrangements form available.

Emergency Special Examination Arrangements
For students requiring Emergency Special Examination Arrangements due to sudden illness, an accident or personal trauma immediately before or during the VCE written examinations, schools must submit an
Application for Emergency Special Examination Arrangements form, available from VASS (SYSTEM ADMIN > Downloads) from Wednesday 18 September.
Derived Examination Score (DES) and irregularity application closing dates
Specific closing dates for submitting a DES application for VCE examinations are listed at the end of the student assessment timetable. A report containing DES closing dates is also available for download from VASS (SYSTEM ADMIN > Downloads).
