VET Transition advice: Certificate II in Conservation and Ecosystem management & Certificate II in Electrotechnology (Pre-vocational) programs

AHC21020 Certificate II in Conservation and Ecosystem management
The Certificate II in Conservation and Ecosystem Management (AHC21020) was superseded on 30 April 2024 by the AHC21024 Certificate II in Conservation and Ecosystem Management (Release 1).
The 2 qualifications are not equivalent. In 2025, continuing students will enrol in the superseded qualification AHC21020 on VASS, to enable them to complete their qualification and for VCE VET credit to accrue correctly.
In 2025, commencing students will enrol in the new qualification AHC21024 Certificate II in Conservation and Ecosystem Management (Release 1).
The program booklet and VCAA program webpage will be updated to reflect this change.
22499VIC Certificate II in Electrotechnology (Pre-vocational)
22499VIC Certificate II in Electrotechnology (Pre-vocational) will reach the end of its currency period on 31 December 2024. In 2025, continuing students will enrol in the non-current qualification 22499VIC Certificate II in Electrotechnology (Pre-vocational) on VASS, to enable them to complete their qualification and for VCE VET credit to accrue correctly.
A new course proposal has been submitted to the Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority (VRQA) for approval. The new course 22XXXVIC Certificate II in Electrotechnology (Pre-vocational), is equivalent to 22499VIC Certificate II in Electrotechnology (Pre-vocational).
2025 commencing students will enrol in the new qualification once approved.
The program booklet and VCAA program webpage will be updated to reflect this change.

Principals/Directors, please communicate this advice to VET coordinators, teachers, assessors, and VASS coordinators for 2025 enrolment.
RTOs should prepare for changes to delivery in 2025.
