VCE VET Business

The VCE VET Business program is drawn from a national training package and offers portable qualifications which are recognised throughout Australia. These qualifications provide students with a broad range of skills and knowledge to pursue a career or further training within a range of business and industry settings. The Certificate III in Business provides a pathway for students who wish to continue with their business studies into higher education.

Scored assessment is available for the scored Unit 3–4 sequence of the VCE VET Business program.

Qualifications

BSB20120 Certificate II in Workplace Skills: an entry level qualification which provides students with the knowledge and skills to enhance their employment prospects in a business or office environment. The certificate provides an understanding of business fundamentals within the Australian context and will assist students to gain employment opportunities in an entry level administrative or customer service role.

BSB30120 Certificate III in Business: provides students with the opportunity to develop a broad range of skills and knowledge to work in a variety of work contexts using discretion, judgement and relevant theoretical knowledge.

ATAR contribution

Students wishing to receive an ATAR contribution for the VCE VET Business program Unit 3–4 sequence must undertake scored assessment for the purpose of achieving a study score. This study score can contribute directly to the ATAR, either as one of the student's best four studies (the primary four) or as a fifth or sixth study increment.

Where a student elects not to receive a study score for a scored Unit 3–4 sequence no contribution to the ATAR will be available.

Where an additional non-scored Unit 3–4 sequence is undertaken students may be eligible for a fifth or sixth study increment.

The increment is awarded by the Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC).

Further information can be found on the VTAC website.

Where a scored Unit 3–4 sequence is used as an increment, the increment will be calculated using 10% of the scaled score.

Where an additional non-scored Unit 3–4 sequence is used as an increment, the increment will be calculated using 10% of the fourth study score of the primary four.
