Early Years
The hands lead us to learning
We know that developing fine motor skills helps children to engage with other learning opportunities and builds a strong foundation for future growth.
In our latest series of videos, Dr Anoo Bhopti, a paediatric occupational therapist and senior lecturer at Monash University, discusses the importance of play and everyday learning in developing children’s fine motor skills.
Designed for early years professionals working with children aged 3 to 5 years, the videos provide ideas about how to set up playful learning environments to support fine motor skills development, as well as examples of everyday routines to refine these skills.
Watch the videos on our
Enhancing young children’s fine motor skill development through playful learning opportunities page.
