Notice to Schools 49 - 26 June 2025

Last day for VCE unit 3 school-assessed task scores and VCE withdrawals

Principals/Directors, VCE, VCE VM and VPC coordinators, VASS administrators and teachers of these studies.

Schools are reminded that:

  • VCE Unit 3 School-assessed task (SAT) scores are due on Monday 28 July. The 2025 scored assessment schedule has a list of VCE studies that require school-assessed task scores.
  • Monday 28 July is the last day to withdraw students from VCE, including VCE VM Unit 4 and scored VCE VET Unit 3 and 4 units of competency.

After this date, VASS will not allow SAT scores to be entered for the following specific criterion scores:

  • Algorithmics (HESS), Criteria 1–4
  • Applied Computing: Data Analytics, Criteria 1-5
  • Applied Computing: Software Development, Criteria 1-5
  • Art Creative Practice, Criteria 1-6
  • Art Making and Exhibiting, Criteria 1-5
  • Media, Criteria 1-4
  • Product Design and Technologies, Criteria 1-3
  • Systems Engineering, Criteria 1-3
  • Visual Communication Design, Criteria 1-4.

VCE withdrawals

Withdrawals will only be supported on compassionate grounds where an application has been made by a school and approved by the VCAA.

Withdrawing a student from a VCE or VCE VM Unit 4 study may affect their eligibility to complete their VCE or VCE VM.

Schools should run student eligibility reports before and after making any changes to a student’s program to ensure that students intending to complete a senior secondary certificate in 2025 will be able to meet the eligibility requirements.

Schools should be mindful when withdrawing students from VCE Unit 4 studies, as a late fee may apply if a student is incorrectly withdrawn and needs to be reinstated in the Unit 4 study.

Action

Principals/Directors should ensure the above items are actioned by relevant staff.
