Award of Intermediate VCAL in 2023, VCAL transition arrangements for 2023, and VCE VM and VPC timetabling professional learning

Awarding Intermediate VCAL to Year 12 students in 2023

The VCE Vocational Major (VCE VM) and the Victorian Pathways Certificate (VPC) are being introduced in 2023.

To ensure all students benefit during the transition to the new senior secondary certificate, Intermediate VCAL will be awarded for an additional year. In 2023, students may complete Intermediate VCAL if they meet the eligibility requirements.

Credit arrangements for transition to the VCE VM or VPC

In 2023 only, schools may teach out Senior VCAL units and students may be awarded the VCE VM or the VPC.

VCE VM and VPC timetabling webinar

You are also invited to register for a webinar about timetabling the VCE VMand the VPC in your school from 2023 and beyond.

Conducted by Edval Timetabling, the webinar will highlight effective ways to enable student choice of subjects in Years 11 and 12. It will help you effectively incorporate the VCE VM and VPC in you r school and show you how to develop common timetables and systems.
