School-Based Traineeships minimum workplace hours consultation
Principals/Directors, VET Coordinators, VET Teachers/Trainers and Assessors
The Firth Review recommended development of a policy requiring a minimum number of workplace hours for school-based trainees, and for prescribed minimum workplace hours to be outlined in approved training schemes.
Engage Victoria released a discussion paper earlier this month on policy aims to ensure school-based trainees gain the skills and experience to be competitive in the employment market and that industry has access to skilled and vocationally competent workers.
You can submit your feedback on the proposed options for setting a minimum workplace hours policy for school-based trainees.
Responses can be provided via the survey on the Engage Victoria website by 12 pm, Monday 17 July 2023.
