Students must complete 16 units. This must include:

• 3 VCE VM Literacy units or 3 units from the VCE English studies group. This must include a Unit 3–4 sequence
• 2 VCE VM Numeracy or other units from the VCE Mathematics studies group
• 2 VCE VM Work Related Skills units
• 2 VCE VM Personal Development Skills units
• 2 VET credits at Certificate II level or above.

In addition to their Unit 3–4 sequence from the English group, students must complete 3 other Unit 3–4 sequences as part of their program.

The VCE VM and VPC Professional Learning page provides self-guided online courses, past webinar recordings, and information about upcoming online and face-to-face professional learning opportunities for teachers, trainers and school leaders.

The VCE VM Flexible Delivery Program (FDP) allows schools to deliver VCE VM studies more flexibly for students who start during the school year or learn at a different pace. Schools must apply to the VCAA each year for approval to deliver Units 3 and/or 4 through the FDP. Approval is not required for Units 1 and 2.

Schools may approve special provision for both classroom learning and school-based assessments. This is to enable students with disabilities, illnesses, impairments, or personal circumstances to participate in classroom learning and school-based assessments. Education providers must apply to the VCAA to seek permission to deliver the VCE and the studies within it. For information see Permission to Deliver the VCE and/or the VPC.

Providers must ensure the integrity of assessments in the VCE. They must also ensure compliance with standards and requirements. For information about the audit program see VCE and VPC Audit.

The Student Achievement Profile (SAP) summary presents a holistic strengths-based overview of a student’s achievements during their senior secondary education. It complements the Statement of Results.

Schools may apply for a SAP summary for eligible VCE students who have satisfactorily completed at least 8 units but have not yet completed the VCE. See the Student Achievement Profile summary page.
 

The Recognition of Learning Statement is a formal statement that acknowledges students who have meaningfully engaged in learning throughout their education, including during their senior secondary years, but for whom completion of the VCE or VPC is not achievable due to individual circumstances.
