VCE VET Small Business

 

 

 

Qualification

22629VIC Certificate II in Small Business Operations and Innovation: provides learners with the knowledge and skills required to work effectively in small or micro-businesses across a range of industry sectors. It includes units that address the skills and knowledge to: follow small business routine procedures, work safely, communicate effectively and professionally, support planning, policies, and procedures, contribute to basic marketing, business operations and innovation.

The qualification provides a pathway to entry-level job roles in industry, further education in vocational business courses and a pathway to self-employment for graduates who start their own business.

Credit in the VCE (including VCE VM and VPC): recognition of up to three VCE VET units at Units 1 and 2 level, and a VCE VET Unit 3–4 sequence.

22480VIC Certificate II in Small Business (Operations/Innovation): a state accredited curriculum that provides students with the knowledge and skills to enhance their employment prospects within small business contexts across a range of industry sectors. The program offers full completion of the certificate II and includes units such as small business policies and procedures, professional skills for small business environments, small business operations and innovation, small business planning, quality and change processes and routine financial activities of a small business.

Credit in the VCE (including VCE VM and VPC): recognition of up to three VCE VET units at Units 1 and 2 level, and a VCE VET Unit 3–4 sequence.

Program material

The VCE VET Small Business program booklet contains information relating to the qualification approved by the VCAA for delivery to VCE (including VCE VM and VPC) students.

It includes advice on the units of competency making up the program and the credit available for students.

It also provides advice on Structured Workplace Learning, the ATAR contribution and pathways to further learning.

ATAR contribution

Students who receive a VCE VET Unit 3–4 sequence for the VCE VET Small Business qualification will be eligible for an increment towards their ATAR (10% of the lowest study score of the primary four studies).

Structured workplace learning recognition

The VCAA provides recognition for Structured Workplace Learning for students undertaking VCE VET programs.
