Block Credit Recognition in the VCE poster - Text version

If you wish to pursue a VET certificate that is not included as part of the VCE VET offering you can still receive credit towards your VCE or VCE VM. This is called block credit recognition.

Credit towards the VCE or VCE VM

The credit you may receive towards your VCE or VCE VM depends on the certificate level and the total number of nominal hours1 for the Units of Competency (UoCs)2 you’ve completed. For each VCE unit, you must complete 90 nominal hours of UoCs at Certificate II level or above.

  • Certificate II: You can receive up to 6 units of credit at VCE Units 1 and 2 level only.
  • Certificate III: You can receive up to 6 units of credit at VCE Units 1 to 4 level.
  • Certificates IV and above: You can receive up to 4 units of credit at VCE Units 3 and 4 level only.
