Celebrating Top Screen 2025: Jury Prize winners
The VCAA congratulates the Top Screen 2025 Jury Prize recipients, who were announced at the premiere event in March.
Each year, the VCAA awards Top Screen Jury Prizes and the People's Choice Award to VCE media students from the previous year, to celebrate outstanding filmmaking talent and encourage further development of skills and passion.
These awards are supported by the Melbourne International Film Festival (MIFF) and ACMI.

- Winner: Alex Feehan from St Kevin’s College for the film Survivor
- 1st runner-up: Mia Sattler from Mount Lilydale Mercy College for the animation Where Did I Come From
- 2nd runner-up: Tadhg Sheehan from Westbourne Grammar School for the film Off the Record
Winners received a multipass for the Melbourne International Film Festival (MIFF), an ACMI membership, and are invited to join the MIFF Schools Youth Jury for 2025.
The Jury Prize winners were selected by an esteemed panel of industry judges, including David Heslin, Publications Manager at MIFF, Garry Westmore, Senior Producer, Schools Programs at ACMI, and Alice McShane, Conference Programmer at the Australian International Documentary Conference.
The People’s Choice Award will be announced in May, following the conclusion of the Top Screen program.
Behind Top Screen: Digital Resource for teachers and students
For the benefit of VCE Media students and educators, a new Top Screen video resource is available via ACMI’s online Cinema 3. This short video features VCAA Curriculum Manager for VCE Media, and 3 Top Screen students sharing how they created their media folios.
The resource is now available for free on-demand via ACMI.
