Decoding your VCE and VPC Statement of Results

Understanding your Statement of Results is easy. Use this key to help.

S = Satisfactory completion of the unit
N = Not satisfactory completion of the unit (VPC and VCAL units with an N result won’t appear)
A+ to E = Level of performance, where A+ is the highest grade
UN = Ungraded or score too low for a grade
NA = Not assessed or you didn’t complete or submit your coursework, task or exam

Interpreting your Statement of Results

GAT Statement of Results

If you sat this year’s GAT, your skills were assessed against standards in literacy and numeracy.

The standards indicate if you demonstrated the literacy and numeracy skills typically expected of someone completing their secondary schooling – giving another indication of your readiness for further education, training or employment.

Your results will show whether you have met the standards, not met the standards, or met the standards and demonstrated a level of excellence.

If you sat the test in a previous year, your statement will report your highest achievement in each standard. If you completed both Sections A and B of the GAT, your results will include a standardised score for each GAT component as follows:

  • Writing (Section A) and written communication (Section B)
  • Reading (Section A) and humanities, the arts and social sciences (Section B)
  • Numeracy (Section A) and mathematics, science and technology (Section B).

See Victorian Literacy and Numeracy Standards

If you didn’t meet the standards

If you completed your secondary studies this year but did not meet one or more of the standards tested or were unable to attend the GAT, you have the option to register to sit the test again in April 2026.
