Millie’s VCE journey

Millie, now studying a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Politics and International Studies at The University of Melbourne, celebrates her achievements as a recipient of the Top All-Round VCE High Achiever Award.
“High school has definitely set me up to have good study habits and discipline,” Millie said.
“I have carried forward the high-energy spirit instilled in me during the VCE into my university studies.”
She acknowledges her teacher, Ms Spanos, for helping her explore her wider interests.
“I think the reason that I admire her so much and continue to admire her is because she had such a passion for literature and books that I couldn’t help but fall in love with them myself,” Millie said.
“She is just incredible.”
Angus’ VCE Vocational Major journey

Angus celebrates his achievements as an Outstanding VCE Vocational Major Student whilst exploring his passion for fashion. Aligned with his interests, he engaged in a placement with a small fashion designer through the program and is now completing his Certificate IV in Fashion Design and Technology.
He values the flexibility of the different pathways offered within the VCE in shaping his post-school options.
“With the VCE Vocational Major pathway, you can choose what you want to do with work placements and pick any field you want,” Angus said.
“There’s hundreds of courses out there so there is definitely a wide variety of things that you can do.”
Isabella’s musical journey with the VCE

Isabella was recognised for her outstanding achievements in the VCE Music Composition subject and will fly to the United States of America to begin her tertiary education at the Curtis Institute of Music.
She highlights the creative and analytical depth that VCE Music Composition offered.
“We learned how to interpret and analyse features of music spanning from 20th century orchestral to non-western folk music under timed conditions,” Isabella said.
“It was fun to write our own compositions and getting lots of detailed feedback during the process was beneficial to my learnings.”
Patrick’s VCE journey

Currently pursuing Medicine at Monash University, Patrick celebrates his achievements as a recipient of the Top All-Round VCE High Achiever Award.
“My overall VCE experience was challenging but definitely worth the reward.”
He credits the depth of the VCE curriculum for helping him adapt quickly to university-level study.
“Some of the knowledge I gained from VCE subjects is still impacting my studies today,” Patrick said.
“It’s very rewarding to see all the puzzle pieces fit together into a bigger picture.”
