Special Examination Arrangements applications

Principals/directors, VCE and VCAL coordinators and VASS administrators

Schools should submit applications for Special Examination Arrangements for 2022 VCE external assessments for all known conditions using Special Provision Online (SPO) by Friday 8 April.

SPO is accessed via VASS from the following menu: SPECIAL PROVISION > Special Examination Arrangements > Special Examination Arrangements Application.

Applying previously approved Special Examination Arrangements to 2022 external assessments

In defined circumstances schools can request that previously approved Special Examination Arrangements be approved for a student’s 2022 VCE external assessments.

An ‘Application to apply previously approved provisions’ is available from VASS Downloads. Refer to the Appendix for important information outlining when this form can be used.

The following documents are available on SPO and on VASS from the SYSTEM ADMIN – Downloads menu to assist schools with collecting and providing the necessary evidence for a Special Examination Arrangements application:

Small group settings

Where a school has two or more students approved the same, or similar provisions, in the same exam session, they can be seated in the same room without requesting VCAA approval.

Action required

Principals/directors, please make sure that VCE coordinators and other relevant school staff are made aware of the requirements for submitting Special Examination Arrangements applications and available support material.

Critical dates

  • Friday 25 February – last day to submit an application to apply previously approved provisions
  • Friday 8 April – last day to submit Special Examination Arrangements applications for chronic and known conditions
