2023 changes to VET credit calculation
VCE, VCE VM and VET coordinators, Career advisors, VASS administrators, VET teachers and trainers
To further support the implementation of senior secondary certificate reforms students undertaking a VCE or VCE VM can be awarded additional VET credit for Units of competencies (UoC’s) completed at Certificate II level or above.
The existing process for gaining credit for VET units of competency (UoCs) towards the VCE and VCE VM remains unchanged.
From 2023, there is an additional VET credit calculation rule.
The following change applies to the calculation of VET units.
General VET units will be automatically calculated for students who have an overflow of hours from any VET certificate II or above where they cannot currently contribute towards any remaining VET units in an enrolled certificate in the 2023 academic year.
Students who are currently enrolled in a VET program have had their VET credit recalculated and, where applicable, a General VET credit has been applied.
