VCE written examinations observation visits

Principals/directors, VCE coordinators and examination centre coordinators

VCAA-appointed senior project officers may attend your school to monitor the conduct and administration of any VCE written examination. The purpose of these observations is to make sure schools comply with all VCAA requirements for the conduct and administration of VCE written examinations.

Senior project officers will observe procedures before, during, and after a VCE written examination, and will complete a report on their visit.

When visiting a school, the senior project officer will initially report to reception and present photographic identification, a Working with Children Check or Victorian Institute of Teaching card, and a letter of introduction from the VCAA.

Action

Principals/directors, please make sure relevant school staff and chief supervisors are made aware that a VCAA-appointed senior project officer may attend their school to observe the conduct and administration of any VCE written examination.

Critical dates

  • Wednesday 18 October
  • Tuesday 24 October to Wednesday 15 November - VCE written examinations held

More information

The VCAA will provide principals with correspondence outlining any concerns raised during the observation. Principals may be asked to respond formally to any issues that need to be addressed.

The senior project officer's role is not to assist with the conduct and administration of the VCE written examinations, nor should they be expected to fulfill the role of an additional supervisor or VCAA advisor.

Any concerns with these arrangements should be directed to the Project Manager, Examinations Conduct and Administration
