VCE Art Making and Exhibiting Study Design (2023–2027) update – minor amendment from 2024
Principals/directors, VCE coordinators and VCE Art Making and Exhibiting teachers
Minor amendments have been made to Unit 3, Outcome 3 (Connect – curate, design and propose) and Unit 4, Outcome 3 (Conserve – present and care) in the VCE Art Making and Exhibiting Study Design (2023–2027).
Unit 3 Outcome 3
From 2024 the following key skills (page 31 of the study design) will read:
- explain and analyse the presentation of artworks in the exhibition and the relationships between them
- present and discuss didactic information, artists and artworks
From 2024, the description of the assessment task (page 32 of the study design) will read:
- research, plan and propose an exhibition of artworks of the three artists who were selected in Area of Study 1, choosing two artworks by each artist and artworks in the exhibition
Unit 4 Outcome 3
From 2024, the description of the assessment task (page 38 of the study design) will read:
- Students present written and visual material, outlining the conservation and care of:
- a selected artwork viewed in an exhibition in the current year of study
- the conservation methods used for the display of their own artworks
Action
Principals/directors, please make sure VCE coordinators and VCE Art Making and Exhibiting teachers are aware of the minor amendments to the study design.
Critical dates
The VCE Art Making and Exhibiting Study Design (2023–2027) has been updated to reflect the minor amendments and is implementable from 2024.
