Victorian Curriculum F–10 Version 2.0 English now available
Principals/directors and F–10 teachers
The VCAA has published the Victorian Curriculum F –10 English Version 2.0 to enable schools and teachers to become familiar with the curriculum over 2024 before implementation in 2025.
The revised curriculum can be found on the
Victorian Curriculum F–10 website.
Please note that the Victorian Curriculum F–10 website will be unavailable from 10pm Friday 15 December until 5pm Sunday 17 December due to a network upgrade.
The revised English curriculum is based on feedback from Victorian educators, including through formal Victorian Curriculum F–10 Monitoring Framework that has been conducted annually since 2018, significant consultation conducted by ACARA in preparing Version 9 of the Australian Curriculum Foundation to Year 10, and advice provided by Curriculum Area Reference Panels, comprising of Victorian teachers from across schools.
English Version 2.0 has been developed to be more flexible and invites skills to be transferred across language modes and contexts. It provides a clear continuum of learning through content descriptions and skills. It also provides capacity to vertically map content descriptions into achievement standards, supporting assessment of student understanding and skill development.
To help understand the revisions, teachers can now download a range of familiarisation resources from
English Version 2.0 familiarisation resources, with more to follow in Term 1 2024:
You can also watch our
introductory videos explaining the revisions across primary and secondary school levels. In 2024, the VCAA will also hold live webinars for curriculum leaders and teachers. Details will be published in a Notice to Schools in the New Year.
