Frequently asked questions

Please also refer to the general frequently asked questions for the Arts.

The Levels F–6 curriculum for Drama emphasises different elements of Drama at each level.  Can other elements be included in the learning program?

The elements of Drama are introduced progressively across Foundation- Levels  5-6. For example, in the Foundation curriculum for Drama, the Drama practices content description includes learning about use of voice, facial expression, movement and space to imagine and improvise characters and situations. Activities might also introduce students to  elements that will be explored more thoroughly in later levels, for example, if students are using masks or other props they might talk about the how the mask or prop can be used in a symbolic way to represent an idea.
