Professional Learning at the Victorian Academy of Teaching and Leadership

The Victorian Academy of Teaching and Leadership offers evidence-informed professional learning designed to advance the skills of teachers and school leaders. Explore the programs listed below or visit the Academy website for further information on our professional learning opportunities.  

Connect: Assistant Principals builds knowledge, develops peer networks, and moves learning into practice. Assistant Principals can enhance their adaptive leadership expertise and increase their ability to solve problems of practice to improve teaching, learning, and wellbeing in their schools.

Cultivating Agency in Learning is designed for teams of 3 to 5 participants. Educators will discover how to unlock students’ full potential by transforming assessment in their schools and developing the capability to connect learner agency and improved literacy and numeracy outcomes.  

Innovating for Student Engagement is an immersive experience that challenges secondary school principals through workshops that explore contemporary and research-informed approaches. Principals will learn to lift student engagement and drive improvement by better understanding the needs of adolescent learners.

Local Leaders Suite is a collection of professional learning aimed to enhance the leadership skills and subject matter knowledge of Victorian educators. This program is held across multiple metro and regional Academy locations.

Team Coaching for CoP Leaders equips school leaders with a proven coaching model to implement in their Communities of Practice. Participants will do a deep dive into the GROWTH conversational framework and develop key skills to build coaching competence.

Victorian Aspiring Principal Assessment is part of a system-wide approach to identify and prepare the next generation of principals in Victoria. A requirement for aspiring or past principals returning to the principal role, participants are provided with expert guidance throughout the assessment and receive targeted professional feedback.

History Teachers Association of Victoria (HTAV) VCE History Conference and Examination Reports

This conference supports VCE History teachers to expand their content knowledge, pick up classroom ready tips and resources, think deeply about VCE teaching and learning, and catch up with peers and mentors from all over Victoria.
