NAPLAN 2025 Changes to Windows LDB

The Australian Curriculum Assessment and Reporting Authority (ACARA) has advised that a new Windows Locked Down Browser (LDB) must be installed on all school managed and BYOD devices using the Windows Operating System (OS) for NAPLAN 2025.

The new version of the Windows LDB (v5.9.2) is available for download via the Assessform.

There are no changes to the NAPLAN 2025 LDB for Mac, iPad or Chromebook users.

While this change only directly impacts schools with students using Windows devices, all schools are asked to acknowledge (via the survey link) that they have actioned these updates by 28 February 2025 to assist the VCAA to track completion and ensure all schools are aware of the change to the Windows LDB.

Schools can refer to the direct communications sent by the VCAA for the survey link.
