Applications to be an assessor or lead assessor for the 2025 VCE external assessments, including the General Achievement Test (GAT), are now open.

VCE examination assessors perform a vital role in ensuring all students receive fair and consistent assessment of examinations. Assessment is an excellent professional development activity that is officially recognised by the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT).
Assessors must:
- hold a current Working with Children Check (for Extended Investigation oral presentation, Languages oral and Performance assessors only).

- Sunday 16 March – Leading Assessor Roles (Chief Assessor, Assistant Chief Assessor, Executive Panel Member) application closing date
Assessor Roles application closing dates:
- Sunday 30 March – General Achievement Test
- Sunday 30 March – English group (English, English EAL, Literature, English Language)
- Sunday 30 March – Extended Investigation (Critical Thinking Test, Written Report, Oral Presentation)
- Sunday 30 March – Music Composition and Music Inquiry Externally Assessed Task (EAT)
- Sunday 30 March – Languages (CCAFL, Victorian, Oral, and Written)
- Sunday 30 March – Performance examinations
- Sunday 27 April – all other VCE written examinations
