Education State Sample Assessment Programs

2022 Critical and Creative Thinking (CCT) assessments

Since 2016, the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA) has undertaken assessments in Critical and Creative Thinking (CCT) with a sample of schools across Victoria to support the Education State Targets. The CCT target highlights the important role of critical and creative thinking skills in helping Victorian students to build problem solving and evaluation capability, the confidence to question, challenge and establish deeper thinking on topics, concepts, events, beliefs, cultures and society.

These sample assessments will be conducted annually by the VCAA with schools across Victoria to collect Year 6 and 10 student data in CCT to track the Education State Targets over a ten year period.

Schools will be selected to participate in the 2022 CCT sample assessment program on a suitable date.

The CCT assessment will only take approximately 75 minutes to complete via a computer, laptop or device and the VCAA will appoint an Assessment Supervisor to visit your school to facilitate the assessment session on a date selected by the school.
