The VCAA, in partnership with the Department of Education and other stakeholders, is leading a revision of the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework (VEYLDF).

The VEYLDF Revision will maintain Victoria’s distinctive focus on play-based learning from birth to eight-years, continuity of learning between early childhood services and schools, and connections across all early childhood professionals.

The revision will draw on the strengths of the revised national Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) V2.0 and align with the F-10 Curriculum Revision to strengthen links between early learning and the F-10 Curriculum.

This is a chance to make sure the VEYLDF is delivering what is needed to support learning and development at a time of major reform in Victoria. The Revision aims to strengthen the existing content of the VEYLDF currently valued by early years professionals, and to make sure it continues to support them in their work with children and families during a time of significant early years reform.

As part of the revision process the VCAA is inviting all early childhood professionals and Foundation to Grade 2 teachers and leaders to contribute to and share ideas on how the VEYLDF can be enhanced. Staff interested in voluntarily participating in an online focus group in Term 1, 2024 are encouraged to complete this form by 1 December 2023.

To find out more about the Revision, go to the VEYLDF Revision page and make sure you sign up for the VCAA Early Years Alert.
