Celebrating student achievements in 2023
Congratulations to all students who received their results this week including those awarded one or more of the 21,753 study scores of 40 or higher, and the 656 who managed to receive a maximum study score of 50.
This year, 57,601 students completed their VCE. For the first time, this includes 6,300 students who were awarded the VCE Vocational Major (VM), part of the Senior Secondary Certificate Reform undertaken in 2023.
In addition, 3,048 students were awarded the VCE Baccalaureate, for completing both a high-level maths study and a VCE language study.
Also, almost 800 students were awarded the new Victorian Pathways Certificate (VPC) in recognition of their achievements in the new vocational and applied learning curriculum, with a specific focus on preparing them for their futures in further study or the world of work.
Senior Secondary Certificate Reform Executive Director Sue Bell says the VCAA has made meaningful changes in the pathways offered to secondary students.
‘This is a significant year for senior secondary students, with a broader, more diverse range of applied learning and vocational pathways in schools,’ she says.
Acting CEO Kylie White also shared her congratulations to students on Monday, reminding them that there are many pathways to pursue their goals.
